Volleyball Recap: Payson Takes a Loss

Payson suffered their biggest loss since August 19th on Thursday. They came up short against the Spanish Fork Dons, falling 3-0. The Lions were not able to make up for their defeat to the Dons from their previous meeting back in September of 2024.

The final score came out to 25-16, 25-21, 25-17.

Despite the loss, Payson saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Allie Mangum had nine digs.

This is the second loss in a row for Payson and nudges their season record down to 8-6. As for Spanish Fork, they pushed their record up to 9-3 with the win, which was their fourth straight at home.

Payson has already played their next match, a 3-0 defeat against Timpview on the 9th. As for Spanish Fork, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 2-0 victory against Mountain Crest on the 6th.
