Basketball Recap: Katella Skates Past Samueli Academy with Ease

Katella was handed a heart-breaking three-point defeat in their last match, but they sure didn't let that happen against Samueli Academy on Monday. The Katella Knights blew past the Samueli Academy Firewolves, posting a 71-35 win. The victory was some much needed relief for the Knights as it spelled an end to their three-game losing streak.

Katella's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Dillon Curtis, who dropped a double-double on 20 points and 13 boards. The contest was Curtis' third in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Joseph Damian, who posted 15 points in addition to six boards and three steals.

Despite the loss, Samueli Academy still got an impressive performance from Julian Chanelo, who put up 17 points along with six rebounds and three steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Morgan Ordaz, who had six points and five rebounds.

Katella's record now sits at 2-3. As for Samueli Academy, their loss was their first of the season and makes their record 2-1.

Katella didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 52-40 win against Orange on the 4th. As for Samueli Academy, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next matchup, a 52-17 victory against Magnolia on the 4th.
