Basketball Game Preview: Jasper Bulldogs vs. Bridge City Cardinals

Jasper and Bridge City are an even 5-5 against one another since December of 2021, but not for long. The Jasper Bulldogs will head out on the road to challenge the Bridge City Cardinals at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Jasper has now lost ten straight, leaving the team hunting for their first win since December 26.

Jasper is headed into the game out to prove that what happened against Silsbee on Tuesday (when they were outscored in every quarter) was just a minor bump in the road. Jasper was outmatched by Silsbee and fell 103-52. While losing is never fun, the Bulldogs can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 1194th, while the Tigers are ranked 286th).

Meanwhile, after a string of five wins, Bridge City's good fortune finally ran out on Friday. They took a 72-55 bruising from Silsbee.

Jasper's defeat dropped their record down to 4-17. As for Bridge City, their loss ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 21-10.

Jasper suffered a grim 51-28 defeat to Bridge City in their previous matchup back in January. Can Jasper avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
