Soccer Game Preview: Roosevelt vs. Berthoud

Roosevelt is 2-7 against Berthoud since March of 2015 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. The Roughriders are taking a road trip to square off against the Spartans at 6:30 p.m. Neither squad made it on the board the last time they hit the pitch, so they've probably got a bit of extra motivation.

Roosevelt is headed into Tuesday's contest looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their fifth straight game on Thursday. They came up short against Mountain View, falling 9-0. While losing is never fun, Roosevelt can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Colorado soccer rankings (they are ranked 207th, while Mountain View are ranked 89th).

Meanwhile, Berthoud has been on a difficult stretch since their win on March 25. They and Greeley Central finished up on equal footing with a 1-1 draw on Thursday.

Roosevelt's loss dropped their record down to 1-8-1. With that draw, Berthoud's record moves to 2-4-2.

Roosevelt came out on top in a nail-biter against Berthoud in their previous matchup back in April of 2022, sneaking past 4-3. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Roughriders since the team won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
