Softball Game Preview: Great Falls Bison vs. Capital Bruins

The Great Falls Bison will face off against the Capital Bruins at 3:00 p.m. on Tuesday.

Great Falls made up a huge gap compared to their last game against Skyview, but they still couldn't quite topple them. The Bison fell just short of the Falcons by a score of 9-7 on Saturday. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest defeat the Bison have suffered against the Falcons since May 7, 2022.

Isabella Saunders was cooking despite her team's loss, going 2-for-4 with one home run, two runs, and one triple. That triple marked the first that she has hit this season. Another player making a difference was Aletta Hagen, who went 1-for-4 with one home run and two RBI.

Meanwhile, Capital posted their closest win since May 26, 2024 on Saturday. They won by a run and slipped past Sentinel 7-6. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Bruins.

The team relied heavily on Madi Emmert, who went 1-for-3 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. The team also got some help courtesy of Ali Miller, who got on base in three of her four plate appearances with two runs and one stolen base.

Great Falls' loss dropped their record down to 3-9. As for Capital, their victory bumped their record up to 4-9.

Great Falls suffered a grim 14-1 defeat to Capital in their previous meeting back in April of 2024. Can the Bison avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
