Basketball Recap: Malcolm Clippers vs. York Dukes
Malcolm was the 51-43 winner over York when they last played one another back in January of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Malcolm Clippers took a 57-49 hit to the loss column at the hands of the York Dukes on Friday. The Clippers have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Carson Frank and Preston Kucera certainly did their best on Friday to avoid the loss. Frank posted 21 points, while Kucera scored 18 points. Frank is trending in the right direction considering he's improved his point production for three straight games.
York was led to victory by Ryan Huston and Cayce Hager. Huston went 10 for 16 on his way to 23 points in addition to eight rebounds and three steals, while Hager went 7 of 13 en route to 16 points and three steals. Another player making a difference was Dylan Oberle, who earned four points and six boards.
Malcolm's loss dropped their record down to 8-5. As for York, the win snapped their losing streak at four games and leaves them with a 6-8 record.
Malcolm has already played their next game (against Glenwood), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. York and North Platte will face off at 4:45 p.m. on Saturday without much rest having both just played. Considering North Platte has lost seven straight at home and York three straight on the road , this one might come down to who's more desperate to change their momentum.
