Frederick Douglass took care of business in their home opener (and then some) on Tuesday. They put the hurt on the Rockcastle County Rockets with a sharp 13-3 victory. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Broncos also won the last time the pair played back in April of 2022.

Frederick Douglass got a great performance from Alexis Fox as she didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits over 4.2 innings pitched. That's the fewest hits Fox has allowed since back in April of 2024.

At the plate, Frederick Douglass let Jarynn Bowman and Haley McGuire run wild. Bowman scored four runs and stole Two bases. while getting on base in all four of her plate appearances, while McGuire got on base in three of her four plate appearances with one home run, two runs, and one stolen base. That's the most runs Bowman has posted since back in March of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Kavery Myrick, who went 2-for-3 with one home run and three runs.

Frederick Douglass always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .533. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Rockcastle County only posted an OBP of .333.

Rockcastle County is on a six-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-3.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Frederick Douglass is packing up and heading out on the road for their first away game this season: they will face off against Lafayette at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Rockcastle County, they will venture away from home to challenge Russell County at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday.
