Baseball Game Preview: Notre Dame Fighting Irish vs. Harman Panthers

Preston hit Notre Dame with a five-run seventh inning on Wednesday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Fighting Irish fell 9-4 to the Knights. The defeat continues a trend for the Fighting Irish in their meetings with the Knights: they've now lost four in a row.

Dominick Bombardiere was huge while hitting and pitching even without the win. He looked comfortable on the mound, tossing five innings while giving up just two earned runs off four hits. He has been consistent: he hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in five consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with one stolen base and one RBI.

Bombardiere wasn't the only one making solid contact as three players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Dominico Minnocci, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with one stolen base. Another was Jovanni Minnocci, who got on base in two of his four plate appearances with two runs.

Meanwhile, Harman had to hit the road for their first game and it wasn't the result they were hoping for. They lost 14-2 to Hundred last Wednesday.
