Football Game Preview: Barstow Aztecs vs. Palm Springs Indians + Official Tickets

Two dominant backs in Nicholas Gaoa and Jordan Johnson are getting ready to go toe-to-toe. The Barstow Aztecs will face off against the Palm Springs Indians at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Both teams are coming into the game red-hot, with Barstow sitting on eight straight wins and Palm Springs on three.

Barstow is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Friday. They blew past La Canada, posting a 34-6 victory. Considering the Aztecs have won six matchups by more than 21 points this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

Barstow didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off three passes before the game was over. It was truly a group effort as Rayshawn Thompson, Degan Cardenas, and Aloalii (AJ) Lealofi picked up one apiece. Barstow got some further help from Quentin Hunter: he picked up a sack, forced two fumbles, and made six total tackles (2.5 for loss).

Meanwhile, Palm Springs' game on Friday was all tied up 7-7 at the half, but luckily for them it didn't stay that way. They slipped by Hart 22-21.

Barstow better keep an eye on Bishop Miller. He was instrumental in Palm Springs' win, rushing for 25 yards and one score, while also catching one TD.

Barstow's win bumped their record up to 8-3. As for Palm Springs, their victory bumped their record up to 11-1.

Friday's contest might be decided on the ground. Barstow has been unstoppable on the ground this season, having averaged 208.2 rushing yards per game. However, it's not like Palm Springs struggles in that department as they've been averaging 187.4 rushing yards. There's a good chance Friday's game turns into a tough fight on the ground.
