Volleyball Recap: Appleton North Takes a Loss

Appleton North was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their 12th straight loss. They fell 2-0 to the Slinger Owls. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Lightning of the 2-0 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in August of 2024.

Gracie Hartjes paced Appleton North's offense, picking up four kills. Hartjes got some help from Lydia Koshuta and her nine assists.

Appleton North's loss dropped their record down to 1-22. As for Slinger, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 14-8 record this season.

Appleton North didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 2-1 win against West Bend East on the 27th. As for Slinger, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next matchup, a 2-0 defeat against Oconomowoc on the 27th.
