Preview: Weatherford Kangaroos vs. Chisholm Trail Rangers
The Weatherford Kangaroos will look to defend their home court on Friday against the Chisholm Trail Rangers at 8:00 p.m. Weatherford is coming into the game on a three-game losing streak.
Weatherford pushed their score all the way to 66 on Tuesday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They took a 70-66 hit to the loss column at the hands of Crowley. Weatherford has struggled against Crowley recently, as their match on Tuesday was their fifth consecutive lost matchup.
Meanwhile, in a tight match that could have gone either way, Chisholm Trail made off with a 51-50 win over Bell. Given Chisholm Trail's advantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 121st, while Bell is ranked 723rd), the result on Tuesday wasn't entirely unexpected.
Weatherford's defeat was their third straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 15-12. As for Chisholm Trail, they have been performing well recently as they've won 12 of their last 16 contests, which provided a nice bump to their 16-6 record this season.
Weatherford came out on top in a nail-biter against Chisholm Trail in their previous meeting on January 2nd, sneaking past 55-53. One of the biggest obstacles the team faced in that game was Chisholm Trail's Kaden Richardson, who scored 26 points along with five steals. Now that he's got a second chance to win this matchup, will Weatherford still be able to contain him? There's only one way to find out.
