Soccer Game Preview: Dyersburg vs. Munford

The Dyersburg Trojans will square off against the Munford Cougars at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Dyersburg's offense has struggled lately (the team hasn't scored more than a single goal for three straight games), a trend the team is no doubt ready to end.

Tuesday just wasn't the day for Dyersburg's offense. They came up short against Henry County on Tuesday, falling 3-0.

Meanwhile, Munford kept a clean sheet against Obion County on Thursday. They walked away with a 2-0 win over the Rebels. The game got a bit rough at times, as the refs handed out a total of four yellow cards before it was all over.

Eli Magan was the driving force of Munford's attack as he scored both of Munford's goals, bringing his season total up to six goals.

The victory made it two in a row for Munford and bumps their season record up to a perfect 2-0. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 11 goals over those two matches. As for Dyersburg, they now have a losing record of 1-2-2.

Dyersburg took their win against Munford in their previous meeting back in April of 2021 by a conclusive 4-0. Does Dyersburg have another victory up their sleeve, or will Munford turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
