Basketball Game Preview: Gilmour Academy Lancers vs. Copley Indians

The Gilmour Academy Lancers will venture away from home to take on the Copley Indians at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Gilmour Academy has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.

Gilmour Academy took a loss when they played away from home on Wednesday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Saturday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Hawken 58-22. Given the Lancers' advantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 190th, while the Hawks are ranked 743rd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, Copley's game on Monday was all tied up 21-21 at the half, but sadly for them it didn't stay that way. They fell just short of Norton by a score of 52-50. The Indians have been going strong on the season, but this is now their second defeat in a row.

Copley's loss dropped their record down to 15-5. As for Gilmour Academy, the win got them back to even at 9-9.

Gilmour Academy strolled past Copley in their previous meeting back in February of 2024 by a score of 63-47. The rematch might be a little tougher for Gilmour Academy since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
