Baseball Recap: Skyline Triumphs

Skyline never let their opponents score on Friday. They walked away with a 4-0 win over the Diamond Wildcats. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Tigers.

Not much got past Landen Hodges, who gave up just five hits and racked up seven Ks to keep Diamond off the board. Hodges also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because Skyline is undefeated when he allows at most one earned run, but 9-11 otherwise.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Noah Long, who went 2-for-4 with two runs and one RBI. Skyline is 4-1 when Long posts two or more runs, but 9-10 otherwise.

Skyline's victory bumped their record up to 13-11. As for Diamond, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 10-5.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Skyline will challenge Conway at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Diamond, they will face off against McAuley Catholic at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday.
