Softball Recap: Belmont Comes Up Short

Belmont was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their sixth straight defeat. They took a 5-2 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Wheeler Eagles. The Cardinals were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Eagles apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in March of 2016.

Belmont saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Klara Kate Bohannon, who scored two runs while going 1-for-3.

Belmont's defeat dropped their record down to 7-7. As for Wheeler, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 11 of their last 12 matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 14-5 record this season.

Belmont wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next contest, a 5-0 loss against Tishomingo County on the 3rd. Wheeler has also already played their next game (against Tremont), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
