Softball Recap: Gardena Takes a Loss

Gardena extended their losing streak to ten on Monday, dropping their season record down to 1-11 in the process. They lost 21-2 to the Narbonne Gauchos. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Gauchos this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 11-1 back in April.

As for Narbonne, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 16-7 record this season. That looming 21-2 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for them yet this season.

For Narbonne's part, they got a massive performance out of Elyse Martinez, who fired off two home runs, three RBI, and one double while going 3-for-4. Those two home runs gave Martinez a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Karolina Gutierrez, who got on base in four of her five plate appearances with four stolen bases, four runs, and one double.

As of now, neither Gardena nor Narbonne have any future games scheduled.
