The Bridgeport Bulldogs will face off against the Magnolia Blue Eagles at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. Bridgeport is coming into the match hot, having won their last four games.
If Bridgeport beats Magnolia with 24 runs on Monday, it's going to be the squad's new lucky number: they've won their past two contests with that exact score. The Bulldogs didn't even let Catholic Central on the board on Thursday, marking the Bulldogs' second-straight 24-0 shutout. The result was nothing new for the Bulldogs, who have now won three games by 12 runs or more so far this season.

Connor Nelson
Connor Nelson made a splash no matter where he played. He kept things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out 11 over five innings pitched. He also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because Bridgeport is undefeated when he allows at most one earned run, but 2-3 otherwise. Nelson was also stellar in the batter's box, going 4-for-5 with four runs, two RBI, and one double.
In other batting news, Cy Booth was a standout: he got on base in four of his five plate appearances with five RBI, three runs, and one double. Another player making a difference was DANNY GOFF, who went 2-for-3 with three RBI, two runs, and one triple.
Bridgeport always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .698. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Catholic Central only posted an OBP of .118.
Trinity Christian hit Magnolia with a five-run fourth inning on Thursday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Blue Eagles fell 6-3 to the Warriors. The Blue Eagles have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Bridgeport pushed their record up to 5-3 with the win, which was their third straight at home. The home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 17.3 runs over those games. As for Magnolia, their loss dropped their record down to 5-11.
Bridgeport might still be hurting after the 14-4 defeat they got from Magnolia in their previous matchup back in April of 2024. Will the Bulldogs have more luck at home instead of on the road? Check MaxPreps after the match for a full breakdown of the game, commentary, and other baseball content.
