Softball Recap: Jerome Drops Season-High Score on Minico

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Jerome). They came out on top against the Minico Spartans by a score of 16-11 on Friday. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last six times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.

Emma Allen was incredible, going 3-for-5 with one home run, six RBI, and one stolen base. The team also got some help courtesy of Sawyer Gararad, who scored three runs while going 2-for-5.

Jerome was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .474. They are 6-1 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.

Jerome's victory was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 8-4. Those home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.8 runs over those games. As for Minico, they are on a 12-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-12.

We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. Jerome will take on rival Mountain Home at 3:30 p.m. on Thursday. Meanwhile, Minico is set to square off against their familiar foe Burley at 3:00 p.m. on Monday.
