Lincoln Christian had won three straight at home, but on Saturday they bumped their record up to 9-4 to make it four. They skirted past the Lincoln Northwest Falcons 3-2. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Crusaders have posted since March 22nd.

Lincoln Christian saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Kale Bryson, who went 1-for-2 with one run.

As for Lincoln Northwest, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost eight of their last nine matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-13 record this season. They just can't catch a break and have now endured five losses in a row.

On Lincoln Northwest's side, Zayden Frye was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits over 6.1 innings pitched. That's the fewest hits Frye has allowed since back in March.

We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Lincoln Christian is set to face off against their familiar foe Central City/Centura at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Crusaders 3.1, the Kernels 2.1) so any runs scored will be well earned. Meanwhile, Lincoln Northwest will square off against rival Holdrege at 2:30 p.m. on Monday.
