Basketball Game Preview: Pass Christian Pirates vs. Our Lady Academy Crescents

The Pass Christian Pirates will head out on the road to face off against the Our Lady Academy Crescents at 6:00 p.m. on Saturday. Pass Christian has a tough task ahead: they'll enter the contest with five straight losses, while Our Lady Academy will come in with nine straight wins.

On Friday, Pass Christian was just a bucket shy of victory and fell 59-58 to Bryant.

Meanwhile, Our Lady Academy hadn't done well against West Marion recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Friday. The Crescents put the hurt on the Trojans with a sharp 55-35 victory. The Crescents have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won eight games by 20 points or more this season.

Our Lady Academy found their leader in sophomore Taylor Henley, who posted 18 points. The matchup was Henley's third in a row with at least 18 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Leah Laporte, who put up nine points.

Pass Christian's defeat dropped their record down to 4-8. As for Our Lady Academy, their win bumped their record up to 10-2.

Things could have been worse for Pass Christian, but things could have been a whole lot better as they took a 60-42 loss to Our Lady Academy in their previous matchup back in December of 2024. Can the Pirates avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
