Basketball Game Preview: St. Charles Fighting Saints vs. Wabasha-Kellogg Falcons

St. Charles and Wabasha-Kellogg are an even 5-5 against one another since February of 2020, but not for long. The St. Charles Fighting Saints will be playing at home against the Wabasha-Kellogg Falcons at 7:15 p.m. on Friday.

St. Charles is probably headed into the game with a chip on their shoulder considering Fillmore Central just ended the team's three-game winning streak on Tuesday. They fell to the Falcons 57-51. The match marked the Fighting Saints' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Wabasha-Kellogg hasn't had quite the year their fans were hoping for to this point, but back-to-back wins may be a sign of good things to come. They enjoyed a cozy 74-59 victory over Rochester Math and Science Academy on Thursday.

Wabasha-Kellogg has also been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five games, which provided a massive bump to their 4-11 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 64.2 points per game. As for St. Charles, their loss ended a five-game streak of away wins and brought them to 13-4.

St. Charles skirted past Wabasha-Kellogg 87-85 in their previous matchup back in February of 2024. Will St. Charles repeat their success, or does Wabasha-Kellogg have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
