Softball Game Preview: Benton Central Bison vs. Lafayette Jefferson Bronchos

The Benton Central Bison will take on the Lafayette Jefferson Bronchos at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

Benton Central couldn't beat Rensselaer Central on Wednesday even though they stacked four runs on them in the third inning. The Bison fell 10-6 to the Bombers. The Bison haven't had much luck with the Bombers recently, as the team has come up short the last four times they've met.

Harrison hit Lafayette Jefferson with a nine-run fourth inning on Tuesday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Bronchos lost 14-2 to the Raiders.

Rilee Clifton was cooking despite her team's loss, going 1-for-2 with one home run. That home run was her first of the season.

Benton Central's defeat dropped their record down to 5-10. As for Lafayette Jefferson, they now have a losing record of 7-8.

Benton Central skirted past Lafayette Jefferson 8-7 when the teams last played back in May of 2023. Do the Bison have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Bronchos turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
