Mt. Vernon had to travel to play their first game of the season, but the final result was worth the trip. They were the clear victors by a 16-2 margin over the Evansville Bosse Bulldogs on Tuesday. That's more bragging rights for the Wildcats, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Alaina Allyn was incredible, scoring four runs and stealing three bases while going 3-for-5. Those three stolen bases gave her a new career-high. Lacey Allyn was another key player, scoring three runs and stealing a base while getting on base in three of her four plate appearances.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. We've got a battle between Wildcats coming up. As for Evansville Bosse, they will challenge Princeton at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday.
