Softball Recap: Jim Thorpe Takes a Loss

Jim Thorpe was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They came up short against the Bangor Slaters, falling 20-9.

Isabella Lloyd was cooking despite her team's loss, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 2-for-2. Isabella Sully also deserves some recognition as she snagged her first stolen base of the season.

Jim Thorpe's defeat dropped their record down to 2-10. As for Bangor, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 6-4 record this season.

Jim Thorpe will head out to square off against Southern Lehigh at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. The Olympians' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Spartans have averaged an impressive 7 runs per game this season. As for Bangor, they will be playing at home against Lehighton at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. The Indians have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 13.38 runs per game on average), something the Slaters will no doubt try to take advantage of.
