Basketball Recap: Burwell Now 3-1 over Last Four Games

After losing to Sandhills/Thedford the last time they met, Burwell decided to demonstrate that turnabout is fair play. The Burwell Longhorns came out on top against the Sandhills/Thedford Knights by a score of 42-30 on Thursday. That's two games straight that the Longhorns have won by exactly 12 points.

Burwell had a senior duo take command as Kaitlyn Simpson dropped a double-double on 11 points and ten boards and Avery Mann posted ten points and seven rebounds. Simpson is also on a roll when it comes to shooting accuracy, as she's posted one of at least 45% in the last five games she's played.

Burwell has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four contests, which provided a nice bump to their 11-8 record this season. As for Sandhills/Thedford, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 11-8.

Burwell didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 46-35 loss against Nebraska Christian on the 8th. As for Sandhills/Thedford, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 51-42 win against Ainsworth on the 7th.
