Basketball Recap: Sumner Cowboys vs. Lakeshore
The Sumner Cowboys's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their sixth straight defeat. They were beaten by Lakeshore 58-26. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Sumner in their matchups with the : they've now lost eight in a row.
Caiden Bickham continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for Lakeshore, dropping a double-double on 18 points and 11 rebounds. Bickham is on a roll when it comes to blocks, as he's now posted two or more in the last 14 games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Owen Guth, who scored nine points along with four steals.
Sumner has not been sharp recently as the team's lost eight of their last nine contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 8-21 record this season. As for Lakeshore, the win makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 17-10.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Sumner and the Warriors will face off at 7:00 p.m. on January 31st without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. As for Lakeshore, they will be playing at home against the Hawks at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Archbishop Hannan presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than the in Louisiana (the Hawks are ranked 22nd, while the are ranked 126th).
