Softball Recap: Diamond Hill-Jarvis Comes Up Short

If Diamond Hill-Jarvis was riding high fresh off their 14-4 takedown of Pinkston on Saturday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Diamond Hill-Jarvis Eagles lost 13-3 to the Lancaster Tigers on Saturday. The pitching woes were uncharacteristic for the Eagles, who until this matchup were averaging 3.17 runs allowed.

Miriam Franco made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went a perfect2-for-2 with one triple and one RBI. Another player making a difference was Viviana Reta, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-2.

Having lost for the first time this season, Diamond Hill-Jarvis fell to 5-1. As for Lancaster, the win keeps them at an undefeated 8-0.

Coming up, Diamond Hill-Jarvis will take on Wyatt in a tournament on Thursday. Diamond Hill-Jarvis' pitching crew has only allowed 3.2 runs per game this season, so Wyatt's hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Lancaster, they will host Tournament Opponent at 1:30 p.m. on Thursday.
