Basketball Game Preview: Millbrook Wildcats vs. Weddington Warriors

Two dominant guards in Ashton King and Kj Younger are getting ready to go toe-to-toe. The Millbrook Wildcats will take on the Weddington Warriors at 5:30 p.m. on Saturday. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty point totals in their previous games.

It was a proper cat-fight when Millbrook faced off against Farmville Central on Saturday. Millbrook fell just short of Farmville Central by a score of 72-70. The Wildcats' loss signaled the end of their three-game winning streak.

Millbrook might have lost, but man, King was a machine: he posted 23 points in addition to five rebounds and five steals. The game was King's sixth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Evan Dean, who went 5 of 8 on his way to 14 points and five rebounds.

Meanwhile, Weddington entered their tilt with Butler on Tuesday with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. They managed a 56-50 victory over the Bulldogs.

Weddington pushed their record up to 6-2 with the win, which was their 15th straight on the road dating back to last season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 68.9 points per game. As for Millbrook, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-3.
