Basketball Recap: Hayes Comes Up Short

Hayes lost against Worthington Kilbourne back in December of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Hayes Pacers took a 52-35 bruising from the Worthington Kilbourne Wolves. The Pacers have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Worthington Kilbourne's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Riley Wilkinson, who went 5 of 8 on her way to 14 points and five steals. That's the most steals Wilkinson has posted since back in December of 2023. The team also got some help courtesy of Audrey Bennett, who posted five points in addition to ten steals and seven assists.

Hayes' defeat dropped their record down to 9-9. As for Worthington Kilbourne, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven games, which provided a nice bump to their 14-4 record this season.

Hayes will welcome Westerville South at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Westerville South will roll in looking for their fifth straight victory, something Hayes surely won't give up without a fight. Worthington Kilbourne has already played their next match (against Big Walnut), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
