Baseball Game Preview: Chiawana Riverhawks vs. Kennewick Lions

Chiawana is 1-9 against Kennewick since April of 2019 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. The Riverhawks will head out to challenge the Lions at 5:00 p.m. Chiawana has given up an average of 7.3 runs per game this season, but Tuesday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Chiawana is headed into Tuesday's game looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their third straight game on Friday. They lost 14-1 to Richland. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last six times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.

Meanwhile, Kennewick never let their opponents score on Friday. They didn't even let Walla Walla on the board, marking the Lions' second-straight 10-0 shutout. The Lions might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 11 contests by nine runs or more this season.

Kennewick has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won ten of their last 11 matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 12-4 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.6 runs over those games. As for Chiawana, their loss dropped their record down to 10-8.

Chiawana suffered a grim 15-2 defeat to Kennewick in their previous meeting on Tuesday. Can the Riverhawks avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
