After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Portsmouth, Mt. Hope was happy to have turned things around on Wednesday. They walked away with a 9-5 victory over the Pilgrim Patriots. The win was some much needed relief for the Huskies as it spelled an end to their five-game losing streak.
Mt. Hope saw eight different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Rhys Davies, who scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-3. Jacob Ferreira also deserves some recognition as he scored his first run of the season.
Mt. Hope's victory was their first in the league, bumping their league record up to 1-4 and their overall record up to 2-5. As for Pilgrim, they now have a losing record of 3-4.
Coincidentally, Mt. Hope and Pilgrim will both be playing Smithfield the next time they take the field. The Huskies will head out to face the Sentinels at 4:00 p.m. on Friday, while the Patriots will head out to face them at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
