Soccer Game Preview: Herron vs. Purdue Polytechnic

The Herron Achaeans will take on the Purdue Polytechnic Techies at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this match.

On Tuesday, Herron didn't have quite enough to beat Danville and fell 2-1. While losing is never fun, Herron can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Indiana soccer rankings (they are ranked 238th, while Danville are ranked 115th).

Meanwhile, Purdue Polytechnic was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They were a single goal away from ending the streak, but they lost a 3-2 heartbreaker at the hands of Indianapolis Crispus Attucks.

Herron's loss dropped their record down to 2-13. As for Purdue Polytechnic, they now have a losing record of 6-7.

Herron took their win against Purdue Polytechnic when the teams last played back in October of 2024 by a conclusive 8-1 score. In that contest, the Achaeans amassed a halftime lead of 4-1, an impressive feat they'll look to repeat on Thursday.
