Baseball Recap: Ashe County Takes a Loss

Ashe County couldn't beat South Caldwell on Tuesday even though they stacked five runs on them in the second inning. The Huskies fell 13-10 to the Spartans. The Huskies just can't catch a break and have now endured three defeats in a row.

Ashe County saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Kye Pennington, who went 2-for-4 with two runs, two RBI, and one double. Drew Cheek was another, going 1-for-4 with two RBI and one run.

Ashe County now has a losing record of 9-10. As for South Caldwell, the victory (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 18-1.

Ashe County didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next match, a 9-3 loss against Watauga on the 17th. As for South Caldwell, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next game, a 7-0 win against Hibriten on the 17th.
