Basketball Recap: Bishop O'connell Falls Short in Nationally-Ranked Matchup

Bishop O'Connell and St. John (ranked 54th and 95th in the MaxPreps national rankings respectively) squared off in a high-profile matchup on Saturday. The Bishop O'Connell Knights fell 65-57 to the St. John's Cadets. The Knights were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Cadets earlier this season, when they won 62-57.

Despite the loss, Bishop O'Connell still got an impressive performance from Matt Dalton, who went 5-for-7 en route to 16 points and seven rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Shane Lincoln, who went 5-for-9 to rack up 12 points.

Bishop O'Connell's loss dropped their record down to 21-9. As for St. John's, the victory made it two in a row for them and also bumps their season record up to 21-9.

As of now, neither Bishop O'Connell nor St. John's have any future games scheduled.
