Volleyball Recap: Sanford Comes Up Short

Sanford was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their eighth straight loss dating back to last season. They lost 3-0 to the South Portland Red Riots. If the Spartans were looking for revenge after losing 3-2 to the Red Riots when the teams met back in October of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Sanford's defeat dropped their record down to 0-2. As for South Portland, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 3-0.

We've got plenty of inter-region action coming up soon. Sanford will challenge rival Massabesic at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, South Portland is set to take on their familiar foe Deering at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
