Basketball Recap: Dillon Skates Past Newberry with Ease

It's playoff time, and Dillon had no trouble coming through when it counted. They really took it to the Newberry Bulldogs for the full four quarters, racking up a 65-26 victory. The Wildcats have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 12 matchups by 20 points or more this season.

Dillon was led to victory by Khwnylahi Mckinnon and Treasure Davis. Mckinnon went 9-for-18 to rack up 23 points and five steals, while Davis went 8-for-15 en route to 18 points and seven steals. Mckinnon is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in each of the last 16 games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Mariah Campbell, who posted seven points and three steals.

Dillon has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 15 of their last 16 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 22-3 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 58.2 points over those games. Newberry's defeat was their third straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 10-17.

Coming up, Dillon will take on Oceanside Collegiate Academy at 3:00 p.m. on Friday. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Oceanside Collegiate Academy comes in on nine and Dillon on 14. Newberry does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
