Preview: Eagle Mustangs vs. Coeur d'Alene Vikings
The Eagle Mustangs will take on the Coeur d'Alene Vikings at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Eagle comes in on ten and Coeur d'Alene on five.
Eagle had already proven themselves in the regular season, and didn't miss a beat now that it's playoff time. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 17-14 win over Rigby on Friday.
Meanwhile, Coeur d'Alene faced Rocky Mountain in a battle between two of the state's top teams. Coeur d'Alene took down Rocky Mountain 24-8 on Friday. Coeur d'Alene pushed the score to 24-0 by the end of the third, a deficit Rocky Mountain cut but never quite recovered from.
Coeur d'Alene's success was spearheaded by the efforts of Caden Symons, who threw for 205 yards and two touchdowns while completing 75% of his passes, and Owen Harris, who rushed for 157 yards and a touchdown.
Their wins bumped Eagle to 10-0 and Coeur d'Alene to 8-2.
Eagle beat Coeur d'Alene 22-14 in their previous meeting back in November of 2021. Will Eagle repeat their success, or does Coeur d'Alene have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
