Football Recap: Sikeston Takes a Loss

Sikeston was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They had to suffer through a 70-42 loss at the hands of the Caruthersville Tigers. The Bulldogs were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Tigers apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in August of 2021.

Sikeston's loss dropped their record down to 1-3. As for Caruthersville, the victory keeps them at an undefeated 4-0.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Sikeston will square off against Farmington at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Bulldogs will be up against the Knights' rather soft defense (which has allowed 29.5 points per matchup), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance. As for Caruthersville, they will face off against Valle Catholic at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Warriors will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more points each game than the last.
