Oakwood hadn't done well against Waynesville recently (they were 1-8 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Thursday. The Lumberjacks put the hurt on the Spartans with a sharp 3-0 win. This was a revenge game for the Lumberjacks: when they faced off against the Spartans on September 2nd, they had to take a 3-1 defeat.

Oakwood not only won, but also showed off some consistency: they kept Waynesville between 17 and 19 points across their sets. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-19, 25-19, 25-17.

Evie Connor paced Oakwood's offense, picking up 15 kills. Connor got some help from Berkley Parker and her 27 assists. Paige Griesser and Olivia Howitt kept things locked in from the service line: the pair finished with three aces apiece.

The victory snapped Oakwood's losing streak at three matches and leaves them with a 11-6 record. As for Waynesville, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 8-7.

Oakwood has already played their next contest, a 3-0 win against Madison on the 27th. As for Waynesville, they will host Carroll at 6:30 p.m. on Monday.
