Softball Recap: Columbia Victorious

After losing to Union County the last time they met, Columbia decided to demonstrate that turnabout is fair play. The Columbia Tigers walked away with a 6-1 win over the Union County Fightin' Tigers on Friday.

Kinley King spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned run on seven hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks any time she's pitched this season.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Anna Dansby, who scored two runs and stole a base while getting on base in all three of her plate appearances. Another player making a difference was Brooklyn White, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 1-for-3.

Columbia's record now sits at 6-3. As for Union County, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-4.

Columbia didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next matchup, a 3-1 victory against Gainesville on the 7th. As for Union County, they have also already played their next contest, a 13-6 win against Bronson on the 7th.
