Baseball Game Preview: Archbishop Mitty Monarchs vs. Valley Christian Warriors

For the second straight game, Archbishop Mitty will face off against Valley Christian. The Monarchs will head out to face off against the Warriors at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Archbishop Mitty's hitters haven't had much luck over their past four matches, but Tuesday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Archbishop Mitty came up short against Valley Christian on Saturday, falling 10-1.

For Valley Christian's part, Kole Laubach and Christopher Buck dominated on the mound. Laubach struck out six batters over four innings while giving up just one earned run off four hits, while Buck pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Those hits marked the first that Laubach allowed this season.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Hunter Fujimoto, who went 3-for-4 with one triple, one stolen base, and two RBI. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in March. The team also got some help courtesy of Nathan Choi, who scored two runs while going 2-for-3.

Valley Christian is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 10-4 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 6.2 runs over those games. As for Archbishop Mitty, their defeat dropped their record down to 8-6.
