Basketball Recap: Make It Three in a Row for Choctaw County

Mooreville came into Tuesday's match looking for another win against Choctaw County, but Caleb Cunningham wouldn't allow it. The Choctaw County Chargers snuck past the Mooreville Troopers with a 59-55 victory on Tuesday thanks in part to Cunningham, who dropped a double-double on 20 points and 12 boards. That makes it ten consecutive games in which he has scored at least a third of Choctaw County's points.

The team also got some help courtesy of Quayvion Lowery, who posted 12 points and four steals. Those 12 points gave him a new career-high.

The win (which was Choctaw County's third in a row) raised their record to 10-11. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 58.7 points per game. As for Mooreville, they moved to 14-10 with that loss, which also ended their four-game winning streak.

Choctaw County will square off against East Webster at 8:30 p.m. on Friday. East Webster knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past five contests -- so hopefully Choctaw County likes a good challenge. Mooreville does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
