Game recap: Trinity Catholic defeated by Gainesville

Trinity Catholic (Ocala, Fla.) fell 42-21 to Gainesville (Fla.).

After taking the lead on a Reid Carlton touchdown pass to Camerhon Guyton, the Celtics went into halftime with a 14-7 lead. The Hurricanes took the lead for good with a touchdown run in the third quarter.

Trinity Catholic's Guyton was the standout player for his team. The senior wide receiver caught three touchdowns.

Gainesville also won the meeting between the two teams last season, 29-6.



The loss comes after Trinity Catholic defeated Eastside 21-12 last week. With the win GHS extended its winning streak to three games.

In a non-conference game next week Trinity Catholic (1-2) takes on East Lake, and Gainesville (3-0) will go up against Lake Weir in a 6A District 5 game.
