Softball Recap: El Dorado's Win on Saturday Extends Winning Streak to Three

El Dorado had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 16.5 runs) and they went ahead and made it three on Saturday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 4-2 win over the Parkland Matadors. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Aztecs have posted since March 7th.

Sophia Lujan looked comfortable as she tossed 2.1 innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than two walks in five consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Isabella Rodriguez and Vanessa Triana did most of the damage at the plate: Rodriguez scored a run while getting on base in three of her four plate appearances, while Triana scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-2.

El Dorado pushed their record up to 19-8 with the win, which was their fourth straight at home. Those home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.3 runs over those games. As for Parkland, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 17-14.
