Volleyball Recap: Mesa Ridge Takes a Loss

Mesa Ridge was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their seventh straight defeat. They came up short against the Sand Creek Scorpions, falling 3-0. If the Grizzlies were looking for revenge after losing 3-0 to the Scorpions when the teams met back in April of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Mesa Ridge was held off the scoreboard, but that almost wasn't the case: they kept the third set very close. The match finished with set scores of 25-16, 25-16, 25-22.

Aiden Meacham paced Mesa Ridge's offense, picking up seven kills. Meacham really made an impact as he also led the team in assists with 11.

Mesa Ridge's loss dropped their record down to 0-7. As for Sand Creek, their victory was their first in the league, bumping their league record up to 1-3 and their overall record up to 2-5.

Mesa Ridge didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 3-0 defeat against Fountain-Fort Carson on the 18th. As for Sand Creek, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 3-0 win against Doherty on the 18th.
