Football Game Preview: Whitefish Bay Blue Dukes vs. Port Washington Pirates + Official Tickets

The Whitefish Bay Blue Dukes will square off against the Port Washington Pirates at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

Whitefish Bay is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Friday. They put the hurt on New Berlin West with a sharp 31-7 win. The score was close at halftime, but the Blue Dukes pulled away in the second half with 21 points.

It was another big night for Lateef Love, who rushed for 217 yards and three TDs while picking up 8.0 yards per carry. Those 217 rushing yards gave him a new career-high.

Love was just one part of a punishing run game: Whitefish Bay was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 291 rushing yards. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their rushing yard total in three consecutive contests.

On the other side of the ball, a lot of the credit has to go to Whitefish Bay's defense and their three sacks. The team can thank three different players for their defensive prowess: Kaben Ziegler, Kellen Busalacchi, and Tosin Kolawole, who each picked up one sack apiece.

Meanwhile, Port Washington had already won three in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 24.7 points) and they went ahead and made it four on Friday. They took their matchup with ease, bagging a 50-8 victory over the Purgolders. Given the Pirates' advantage in MaxPreps' Wisconsin football rankings (they are ranked 95th, while the Purgolders are ranked 343rd) , the win wasn't entirely unexpected.

Whitefish Bay's win bumped their record up to 4-6. As for Port Washington, their victory bumped their record up to 7-3.

Whitefish Bay came up short against Port Washington in their previous matchup back in October of 2024, falling 27-21. Can the Blue Dukes avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
