Softball Recap: Biloxi Comes Up Short

After flying high against Gautier on Thursday, Biloxi came back down to earth. The Biloxi Indians fell 9-4 to the East Central Hornets on Friday. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Indians of the 16-0 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in March of 2018.

Biloxi saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Aubrey Atchison, who scored a run while going 2-for-3. Jolee Shaver was another, scoring a run while going 2-for-3.

Biloxi's defeat dropped their record down to 4-2. As for East Central, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 4-2 record this season.

Biloxi will take on Pass Christian in a tournament on Saturday. As for East Central, they will face off against Gulfport at 5:40 p.m. on Friday. East Central is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 8.8 runs per game this season.
