Baseball Recap: Beech Grove Find Success

Beech Grove won the last time they faced Indianapolis Cardinal Ritter and things went their way on Wednesday too. The Hornets came out on top against the Raiders by a score of 8-5. The game was the first time the Hornets have beaten the Raiders on their field since April 18, 2023.

James Gann was excellent, going 2-for-3 with two RBI, one run, and one double. Those two RBI gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Davion McDonald, who went 1-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.

The victory made it two in a row for Beech Grove and bumps their season record up to 3-10. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.0 runs over those games. As for Indianapolis Cardinal Ritter, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 2-9.

Coming up, Beech Grove will look to defend their home field on Saturday against Irvington Preparatory Academy at 10:00 a.m. As for Indianapolis Cardinal Ritter, they will head out to square off against University at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Raiders' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Trailblazers have averaged an impressive 7.4 runs per game this season.
