Softball Game Preview: Oceanside Mariners vs. Belfast Lions

The Oceanside Mariners will head out to square off against the Belfast Lions at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. Oceanside has a tough task ahead: they'll enter the matchup with four straight losses, while Belfast will come in with five straight victories.

Saturday just wasn't the day for Oceanside's offense. They came up short against Hermon on Saturday, falling 19-0.

Meanwhile, Belfast earned a 6-2 win over Lawrence on Saturday.

Belfast pushed their record up to 5-0 with the victory, which was their sixth straight on the road dating back to last season. The road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.8 runs over those games. As for Oceanside, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-3.

Oceanside might still be hurting after the 7-1 loss they got from Belfast in their previous matchup back in May of 2024. Can the Mariners avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
