Baseball Recap: Diamond Hill-Jarvis Extends Winning Streak to Three

Diamond Hill-Jarvis had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 13 runs) and they went ahead and made it three on Wednesday. Their pitcher stepped up to hand the Dunbar Wildcats an 11-0 shutout. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Eagles also won the last time the pair played back in April of 2024.

CHRISTOPHER MARTINEZ made a splash while hitting and pitching. He didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out nine over five innings pitched. Those nine strikeouts gave him a new career-high. He was also solid in the batter's box, scoring two runs and stealing two bases while getting on base in two of his three plate appearances.

In other batting news, MILIANO RIOS was incredible, going 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, three RBI, and one triple. Those three RBI gave him a new career-high. DOMINIC DAVIS was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing two bases while going 2-for-3.

Diamond Hill-Jarvis always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .594. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Diamond Hill-Jarvis' victory bumped their record up to 5-10-1. As for Dunbar, they are on a six-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 0-6-1.

Diamond Hill-Jarvis will have a chance to go back-to-back against Dunbar: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
